So, my friend Brent told me he and his bandmate Wireless of their Love Gutter percussionator band were playing in the Atrium at the Catalyst last night so Maxine and I went and I'm so glad we did! We had a blast!!! Maxine was on stage with them, she has been wanting to be on stage for a long time now seeing quite some bands in her short yet musically rich life and wow, she not only put on a great great dancing show but she sang with them and it was just unbelievably creative AND perfect with their sound! We actually bumped into Wireless today while walking around downtown and he was super sweet and told her how wonderful her singing was!!! Score for your first stage appereance my girl!!! Those guys are amazing!! At first they might sound like trash pots and pans getting into a fight but listen closely and it's awesome! Yay, thank you guys and thanks to Jeffrey as well who was part of the fun! Oh and here is a fun video of them performing in our hood, like they usually do! Enjoy! Now, Brent, showing here on picture, is also a painter, a good painter, the other night I went to a great event called Animated canvas, here downtown where he and other painters were painting live, only he told all of us, friends, we should come down and could be a model for him as he paints portraits (i've seen the ones he did at his home and they are really good, very colorful) so I went there and was the first one to "volunteer"! and it paid off, I'm going to try to take a pic of that great painting he did, but more than the painting itself was the whole experience, we had SO much fun doing it, he thought he could do some fast painting in an hour and paint a few people but turned out ours took 2 hours but tthat's as well because we had so much fun and were talking, laughing our asses off, being super silly, yet sometimes focused but what can you do when you put Gemini rising together in an art place????? Today, Maxine built up her farmers market booth! She named her booth French Maxine and it's not clear on the pic but we wrote down (flyer on the table): French Maxine Fresh sheep cheese Fresh produce Handmade (Her words!) Haha. This came after we were listening to a French radio program and they were talking about goat milk and she asked me "what part of the goat do you use to make goat milk?", what a good question! So I explained to her then looked on youtube and found great videos, even one about gruyere made the old fashion way, simply beautiful!, and others about how to make milk from goats (not sure why she then wanted to write down "sheep" on her little flyer but that's okay ahah, oh yes I think it's because I told her in my Basque hometown area, sheep milk is a big thing. So anyway, Maxine told me the other day while having lunch that we should be farmers! I think the time we spend at the farmers market (hours!) specially hanging out with our good friends at Happy Girl Kitchen (sit down and watch the video please!!!) and so on makes her a farmer in the making. I am actually seriously considering the thing, a few goats and some good produce would be fantastic. To be continued!
